Puget Sound Energy's Wild Horse Wind and Solar Facility in Washington state has expanded with the addition of 22 wind turbines and 50 kW of solar modules. Both additions began operations on November 9.

The new wind turbines join the original 127 turbines, which entered service in December 2006, and raised its capacity from 229 MW to 273 MW. In addition, the Wild Horse solar array, one of the largest in the Northwest, expanded with 315 solar modules adding on to the present 450 kW of generating capacity.

Initial development of the expanded wind site began in 2008 with construction taking place in the spring and summer of 2009. Testing and commissioning of the new wind turbines was completed in October 2009.
